When they first shut down to those not paying their ransom they wouldn't let me retrieve or even delete my photos. I sent them an email that if they tried to sell ANY of my images I'd sue because they are MY intellectual property. So far so good. I didn't store any photos there what were only copies. I have all the originals on my computer.

Are you not able to log into your free account?


They no longer allow 3rd party linking on free account but you should still be able to log in.

The free account only allows storage of 250 pics, I just checked my old free account.
It looks like there is no problem downloading images if I want to.


If you have hundreds of pics on there you may have to sign up for a month as suggested above then save to your computer

I am locked out. Even if I pay for a month or so it is difficult to get them out. I did search my computer and found some that I had transferred out when I heard they were going to charge.

I had not used my old photobucket in a while

If you remember your user name or email you used to set up the account they will send you a link to set up a new password. Thats what I had to do


They only let you see 250 of your photos on the free account and no 3rd party linking. Beyond 250 of your pics are blurred out until you set up a paid account. Im not going to do that. i have all my photos on flash drives



But to down load from their site it very easy but time consuming. They have a download feature, you can download whole albums or just one pic.


Not sure why your locked out. I think if you don't login over a year they will delete the account, but I'm not positive on that.


When picasa went away I didn't lose any pics, but all my old links in different forums are busted, same thing happened with photobucket.

I was able to access some in the clear and the others were as you described.

As you download some of your old pics, try to delete them from photobucket and see if another 250 become visible.

With my skills, I found a picture yesterday of a friend I connected with after about 10 years. Lost it already. I had lunch with her.
