Looking for someone that has knowledge, information, parts And etc. On a 1950 chevy Big truck. Big as in a 2 ton. It's all apart. This is a different animal. Everything on this truck is different than the pickup or 1 ton. Except for the cab. All the frontend sheet metal is different. And I'm lucky in that I have most of the front end sheet metal. Doors, hood fenders, etc. And it's in good shape. But what I am missing is the grill. Now I know the grill looks the same as a pickup. But it's different also. So here are my thoughts and questions Since I do not have a grill at all. Can I modify a pickup grill to fit the 2 ton. I'm sure the 2-ton grill is taller than the pickup grill. But think it's the same width. But not sure. Does anyone know for sure if I can modify a pickup grill to fit the 2 ton by replacing the pickup brackets with 2-ton brackets making the grill taller? > I know it may sound crazy, but nowadays whatever works. I'm not in a hurry, I have the truck apart. But if the weather holds out, plans are for getting it back together soon So I am kinda looking ahead for parts and information. Thanks for any info you may offer.

There should be a few two ton grills around either in a old junk yard or on someone’s property if you look around .

I have a whole 2 ton clip you could have here in Philadelphia. All I want out of it are the headlight buckets. Come and get it. Fenders, grille, inner fenders, runing boards, hydrovac, heck I have the whole frame too. All I bought it for is the cab.
PS - this should not be a 1-ton post.......

You shouldn't have too much trouble sourcing what you need -- Help yourself to our free Classified Ads section -- the "Swap Meet" in the menu bar at the top of this page). Usually, it's the other way around -- little truck guys who are only finding Big Bolt front clips ...
You might also take a look at our Tech Tips (menu bar at the top of this page). There might be some info there you *might* find useful as it pertains to the bigger trucks.
Welcome aboard!

As mentioned 1 1/2, & 2 ton 47-53 Chevrolet grilles, not too hard to find. I've seen a few on ebay, and on the 47-54 GM Truck Facebook group pages recently.

I'd agree that big bolt stuff is easier to find around here. You may have to buy or haul away the entire truck, but they're out there.

Amtrakjoe, do you have a two ton front clip, minus headlight buckets, to sell? And/ or a frame? Tried a private message which didn't work (?). Thanks.
