Sorry we didn't get to see Jerry down here in San Antonio during this road trip! He had planned it earlier in the year but the darn pandemic stalled him I believe. I think his earlier route was going to bring him through our town. Well, it's our loss. He's forgotten more than all of us in SA know put together!! Jerry, maybe one day Chris and I will fly out and visit with you over a weekend. Talking to you face to face would be much nicer than on the phone like I've been doing for a couple of years!

Martin, I drove straight through- - - - -got home at 3:15 AM, went to bed and just got up about an hour ago! Other than a bunch of idiots in Memphis trying to play bumper tag with me in the middle of the pack, no drama! I thoroughly enjoyed the trip, and now I've got more toys to tinker with!

Chuck, drop by anytime! I'm also just a few miles north of the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville Alabama if you're into stuff like that.

It turns out that the man in Lubbock who wheels and deals in used automotive machine shop equipment who sold me the crankshaft grinder was also the one who bought out the equipment of the machine shop in Nashville where I ran the connecting rod reconditionig department back in the late 1990's when they closed down. When the city forced them to sell two paid-for buildings under "public domain" in order to build the stadium for the Tennessee Titans, the owner of the company was in his late 70's. He had to borrow 3 million dollars to relocate his business, and they never recovered from the financial hit that created. Small world!

Would love to meet Jerry some day. It's a long trip for me, unfortunately.
