My 1947 Chevy 3100 has a 1959 235 engine and I want to replace the fuel pump it has now for one with the glass bowl on top to be more vintage. I do not want one with the vacuum feature. In fact, I had one ordered from a supplier and waited a while for delivery...then I called back and they said they had to locate another company to provide these. Some on eBay but I had rather have a new one. One like I want without vacuum should run around $75 new. Who can help me? Thanks, ray

Most of the "new" sediment bowl fuel pumps I've seen are NOS parts. I'm not aware of anyone repoping them. There could be and I'm just not aware of them. You can buy rebuild kits for yours that will make it as good as new. It's not difficult to rebuild one. Just replace the gaskets and one way valves. Just make sure you're putting the one way valves in the right way.

Just saw one on eBay "1937 TO 1951 CHEVROLET SINGLE ACTION REBUILT FUEL PUMP FOR TODAY'S FUELS AC 429", but they want $250 for them. Same seller has the one with vacuum pump for $10 more.

Seems all the usual suspects, JC, Chev's of the 40's, Classic Parts, The Filling Station, are backordered on these.

Usually the check valves are okay after cleaning The main diaphragm material can be ordered from McMaster Carr You will need to cut it round and stamp holes yourself But that’s part of the fun -s
