 fan belt help

I have a 1950 GMC 2-ton with 248 engine that I need a fan belt for. Looks like a 5/8 on it, but seems loose in the pulley. Wondering if a replacement belt should be 3/4. Anyway, I'm looking for a resource for one. Checked Jim Carter, but they're back ordered. Open to suggestions. Thanks.

Do you have a belt in it currently?, you can take it to Napa and they should be able to measure it and come up with something that will fit. Measure the width of the groove in the sheave and the depth if you can.

Hy Dirigoboy, the o.e.m. p/n I come up with is 2190637, that crosses to Napa p/n NBH2528437 $32.99, outside circumference 44.3" width .775". Hope that helps.

Sounds like the most logical thing to do. I hadn't thought that NAPA would carry a belt for old bolts, but I have a store near me so I'll take a look at that. Thanks

In 2003 I needed a fan belt for my 216. I got on NAPA’s website and looked up the number. Went to the local store and gave them the number. One of the applications for that belt was a washing machine. And it was a made in USA Gates belt. Oh, they also had it in stock, if I remember right.
