Does the attached picture show accurate detail on the GMC chrome hood trim regarding the painting of the 'shadow' areas? I also have a Chevy trim piece with some of the shadow area painted. It looks as though a little paint under the letters would make the GMC and Chevrolet names stand out a bit.

Thanks for the replies but what I'm talking about is the use of color in the small groove directly under the letters G, M & C. I'm just wondering if that was original or not. For what it's worth I believe red was the original color used in the big groove. The picture I attached shows a trim piece that has probably been repainted in what looks like a body color and, in addition to the paint in the small groove, also shows paint under and over the 'M' and some on the the other letters as well. I like the way the color in the small groove makes the GMC logo stand out.
It would look nice under the letters on the Chevy trim as well.
