This year's St. Louis Hot Rod Hundred is scheduled for 10 October 2020. In consideration of ongoing COVID, the Light for the Lost will not be serving lunch; instead participants are to bring their own lunch etc. The start and end points are supposed to be the same as last year (Francis Howell High School and Washington City Park, respectively), but the route has yet to be determined.

Here's a link to the online registration form:

Their slogan is, "Go a hundred, or go home!" It ends up being a 300-mile day for me!

A friend of mine is coming along as Navigator this year. He has a 1955a pickup that is a candidate for an S-10 frame swap, so it may be a chance to get him motivated.

Here's a photo of a couple of Stovebolters' trucks at yesterday's Hotrod Hundred. There were 105 cars pre-registered; I don't know how many total showed up.

The weather was great, and I drove through parts of Missouri that I'd never seen before! ...other parts, I hadn't seen since childhood.

Ol'66 ran great. It was much more fun when it cooperates. :-) I agree the route was roads many of which I had never been on, but it was beautiful. The trees were gorgeous and the weather was great. The sight of hot rods in your windshield and rear view mirror was awesome. And having folks along the route enjoying the cars as they went by and waving was pretty special. This will be a yearly event for me provided the truck is running well.

Glad you had a good time and the weather was great with the leaves starting to turn colors.

Kevin, did you figure out the carburetor linkage issue?

Mike, where'd you get the photos of your truck?

I think the problem was my overdrive kickdown switch mount on my carburetor. After an hour of driving, the switch would work its way down and contact the butterfly mechanism on the carb. I made some design changes and 3D printed an improved version of the mount. I'll test-drive it today.

Other than that, 'Mater did great. That new Weber carb really made a difference!

How did you like the T5?

-Kevin
