Right now the TV will not connect but the computer will. If I buy a new one what should I look for? Until I finish this I will not know if my laptop is connected.

I updated from an old Asus to a new TPLink multi-band router a couple of years ago. It's made a lot of difference. I was having a lot of connection issues and my ISP kept telling me it was my router. Turns out it seems to have been that. What I did was to search for "Best router under $100". The TPLink was the top one. Your results my vary.

Just ordered a Nighthawk AC1900 router to replace my Sisco router that is probably 7+ years old. It’s a little pricey but the reviews are really good. Suppose to arrive Monday so I’ll let y’all know next week if it helped my “slow connection” problems.

I have had the Nighthawk AC1900 for a few years and it improved the wifi and has been mostly trouble free. But, there are occasions the router needs to be rebooted (once or twice a year). I have my main desktop hardwired to the router, so I can use the admin page to reboot it easily (unplugging it also works). I have 4 roku's plus phones and Macs all on Wifi and it handles the load fine.

One thing to be aware of when purchasing a router. If you have a multi floor house there are routers that work better for this. The cheaper routers can work but you will probably experience connection drops the further you are from the access point. Make sure you do your research before purchasing.

I just checked and the router I bought isn't available any longer. It's been replaced with a newer model. Tech stuff goes out of date pretty quickly.

Mine is a netgear and I have had it for at leasrt 29 years. I warch a lot of you tube and I have to reboot about every hour or hour and ahalf. But Amazon prime it will run for hours. I look at a net gear on the sight that was posted, it was $249.00. Mine was $49.00.
