Red dot, center of chest ...
This has come up a few times, so I thought I'd post it here as a reference. The Forum is setup to automatically assign you a title based on how many posts you've made. Here's the criteria:

Title Minimum Posts

Moderated 0
New Guy 5
Wrench Fetcher 25
Shop Shark 75 (We have 1,215)
Master Gabster 5,000 (We have 15)
Extreme Gabster 10,000 (We have 9)
Boltergeist 15,000 (We have 4)
Gone To Plaid 100,000 (We have none so far)

Those are just the products of my troubled mind. If anyone has any suggestions for changes, please share them ...

You probably don’t want to hear my suggestions.
But it would be a good topic around the campfire this weekend.

I had a guy today who emailed me asking why he's a New Guy since he registered in 2005. (He only has 21 posts in that time.) I wonder if we should add a new category between New Guy and Wrench Fetcher? Like Slow Poke or Bystander. Maybe at a minimum of 15 posts.

Seriously, though ... have we (internet forum users in general) outgrown/moved beyond the need for titles? And here, users can reassign themselves custom titles anyway. Or is it only Admins and moderators ...?

And what if the 'New Guy" is a gal? We have a few of those and I don't think it is very welcoming for them to see that.
