What do you all use in your garages to keep the rodents away that are pet friendly? First time I've seen evidence of them since moving in and I'm not crazy about using poison or old fashioned traps as my bassett has a habit of getting into things she shouldn't.

I picked up some small packets of repellent at the local COOP. I don't remember the brand, I'll have to go look. I noticed evidence of mice in the '53 and placed two of them where I found the evidence. No evidence of mice now so they seem to work. They appear to be a blend of aromatic herbs that rodents don't like. Not unpleasant to humans.

A 5 gallon plastic bucket half filled with water and a rolling soda can smeared with peanut butter is pet friendly, especially if you put the bucket out of reach of Deputy Dawg. There are lots of variations of the setup on you tube, and making the trap is a fun project for a rainy afternoon.

Don, it's good to be back!

Tiny, i forgot about those, saw an advertisement for them awhile back. Seems like the brand name had "grandpa" something or other in it.

Jerry, I've got a few buckets laying around, think I'll give it a go and see how it works.

Thanks!

Tomcat and Victor make bait stations that are pet proof. Not having a pet I use the baits without the station, never see a mouse. Normally have the doors open only when entering or leaving, seal up all entry points also helps.

Hello Jordan,

The other day, I was wondering what you've been up to. Glad to see you are still stopping by the virtual garage on occasion.

John

Toss a few handfuls of cracked corn chicken feed into the water in the bucket. As it ferments, it will attract all the mice and rats in the area. My late friend who used to make a few gallons of moonshine on occasion found that keeping the rats out of his mash vat was a real challenge! The occasional floater didn't change the flavor, however! Good stuff, as a few people at Homecoming can testify!

John, i haven't been up to much. Work has slowed down so I've had more time to spend in the garage. Most of that time is spent working on other people's stuff though dang Planted a pretty great garden this year until the invasion of the squirrels.

Jerry, I bet those mice were as happy as can be for at least a couple seconds
