What do you do when you have to charge a 6v battery and all you have is a 12v charger?

You use jumper cables to wire two 6v batteries in series and then connect the 12v charger to both of them!!

I have chargers that have a 6V/12V switch. That's the way I'd go.

Can't you just attach ONE of the charger leads? or maybe plug the charger into a 60 volt ac outlet instead of 120 volts?

One of my 6V/12V chargers is an Exide one. The other 6V/12V is rather new but it's at our place 500 miles distant. They are both rather new.

Tony,
Save yourself a lot of aggravation and get the right tool for the job.

Walmart has a nice 6/12 volt charger and maintainer for $38 and free delivery to your house.
