I have a 1947 Chevy 3100 pickup. The VIN is 9EPK4912. Is there a way to find out what date my truck was completed at the factory. If not the exact date then maybe at least the month. Thanks, Ray

That is the Vehicle Serial Number.

How to decode it - shown on this page. [1954advance-design.com]

9EPK4912
9 = assembly plant = Norwood, Ohio
EP = 3100 series
K = month = 11 = November
4912 - 1000 = 3912 sequence/serial number (for that model)

- If you have to stomp on your foot-pedal starter, either you, or your starter, or your engine, has a problem.
- The 216 and early 235 engines are not "splash oilers" - this is a splash oiler. [chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com]
