A maintenance manual would be fantastic, though I have managed to download pages I need Gord&Fran, The Ranch cafe, it’s under new management and now have a smoker for bbq, to soon to tell if it’s a good thing
Way back most of us tried to get our hands on Canadian built 265, 283's because they had thicker blocks. I ran C/Mp (C modified production), it was punched max. That was in the days when we could cheat a little. Were the six cylinder's from Canada thicker? By the way Stagerguy that is a beautiful truck, you win, the girl and the truck! Welcome to the greatest site anywhere. Doc.
Check your casting code. It should be on the right side of the block in front of the distributor. It will be raised. This will tell you if it’s a 216 or 235, as Kevinski said. I’d be surprised a truck like that has its original engine still. It simply isn’t crusty enough! Nice truck. Yes, CDN GMCs used Chev engines on the little trucks so we Canucks don’t have to worry as much about the dreaded frame differences our southern brothers do.
By the way, whatever happened to those links that were at the top of the Engine forum and had a bunch of those decoders listed?
