Will a 55-59 radio fit in a 47-54? If so, what might be a fair price for this radio in good shape and working condition?

That radio is not made to fit the contour of the 47 to 53 dash or the openings.

Hi Stove, Canadian trucks didn’t often get the American radio options Many Canada trucks if the owners wanted a radio it would get aftermarket radios Or the Autoradio model 510 which would be more “correct” for an pure Canadian restoration This model 510 didn’t look as nice as the American option.
I have a lot of literature about the 510 I can send you or anyone who wants Just PM me
And if anyone has a model 510 I would love to restore it and post all the photos here! -stan

There were several models of the Canadian radio, that fit the truck during the 47 to 53 years. They were made to fit several other cars too. The controls adjusted in and out horizontally and also in angle. a separate face plate was used on the outside of the dash to trim the radio so the rest of the radio was not visible. Sometimes the radio was mounted in the inverted position and the dial there was a different dial face used. The Canadian radios used two 6V6s for the audio output and thus produced about twice the power output of the US version.

In 54 the radio is distinctly different. You can get an aftermarket one, pricy,$500.00. But the originals can be converted to am FM. I have one in my US 54.
