Well I found a new distributer and put it in tonight. think the timing is close cause it started and ran ok still has a high idle. so i got out the book and looked for how to set the timing. thinking timing light and mark on damper. But the book talkes about a mark on dist and alighning the rotor . is that correct or am i a bad reader. to dark to look tonight but will crawl under in morn and look at damper and dist cap . am i in the right area?

Well went to dr google and found a video of how to time it. finding the wire for dist advance was a process. But its timed and ran pretty good on the way to the feed store. no pop back when i pushed it. so as they say stick a fork in me i am done. Everyone have a safe 4 th
