Found: Looking for (qty 10) 1/4-20 bolts as pictured. They have both the hex head and the recessed phillips slots. They hold on the pushrod cover on my 48 GMC 248. They are used on some other inline 6's but I don't know which ones used them. I could use 10 of them.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been able to find new ones in metric but surprisingly not in SAE.

Go on to bolt depot.com and browse. They have a bunch of things and very easy to navigate. John

I found some on McMaster-Carr, but they only had fine thread. frown
I also searched Hillman (the usual supplier for the hardware store bins), and came up short there as well.
Nothing on Bolt Depot either.

FOUND THEM
Phillips Hex Head [fastenersuperstore.com]
Unfortunately you need to buy them in quantities of 3000. That should last you a few eons. wink
Maybe you could call them and see who they supply to for retail quantity sales.

Just working on restoring my google-fu skills. grin

Aircraft Spruce has some but they don't really give a size.

Those are 8-32 x 3/8" long - shown if you click "show on catalog". The don't carry anything larger than 10-32. The -08 indicates the size and the -6 the length in 1/16ths of an inch.

DP, if you get stuck, and if no slot, hex flange bolts would work for you, I have plenty. 1/4-20 x 1/2, Grade 5, zinc. See the photo.

Send me a PM if I can help.

Doug
