I have a 1-pint hummingbird feeder outside my family room window. Last week the next day after filling it was empty and the snap-on base was on the ground. I refilled it and the next day it was again empty. So I purchased another quart and filled it. I saw a few hummingbirds there and everything seemed ok. I filled it Sunday and no problem until I got up and it was empty again. Usually, it takes the birds a week or two to empty it. A side note I was sitting here watching the pesky squirrel take the top off of the birdseed feeder. I watch it go round and round the seed feeder trying to find a way to get in. After is saw the ground critters I thought they might have jumped from the bushes and spun around on the base to spin the clips off. But how can the thing be emptied overnight and the base is still on?.

When I die, I hope she doesn't sell everything for what I told her I paid for it!

We have the same problem, in our case I observed deer licking the feeder and emptying it. The deer here are more annoying than the squirrels.

They have tiny little hands and the feeder is on a metal shepherd's crook. I am beginning to think they could climb the pole and swinging on the perch which would unscrew it. But how did they drink it without taking the lid off the second time?

Tim the first picture illustrates what my feeder is like and most likely how it was done. It could have been the critters that I saw moving across my back yard where the feeders are. I filled the birdseed feeder this morning and squirrels and the birds have knocked it on the ground and they will get no more until the ground stuff is gone.I never know if some one will be able to view this. I am thinking about getting a trail camera. I don't know much about them even if I can download it to my Android computer. Not very expensive so I seriously think I will get one through Amazon so I can return it if I can't figure it out.

It's not a humming bird feeder, but I think Ron could appreciate.
