Hello Stovebolters,

I'm glad there's a dedicated forum for these trucks; I shy away from the frame sectioning/LS V8 crowd and prefer a vehicle that retains most of its character. I'm located in the Dallas area of Tejas and am working on my project truck, a 1958 GMC Panel. I hauled it back from southeast Kansas and am slowly working to have it driveable again.

Details:
Long wheelbase
GMC 270 L6 engine
SM 420 transmission
Eaton H072 dual rear wheel differential (I have the OE 19.5in Kelsey Hayes wheels, not shown in the attached images)

I've shown friends pictures of my truck and I continue to hear resounding statements like, "Dual Rear Wheel?! That's not stock!", "Those fenders are aftermarket", etc...
Can any members here help me set the record straight on this?

Also...I have a needs list. Can any of you help me? smile

1. Water Pump Pulley (3/8in belt)
2. Passenger front parking lamp/blinker assembly
3. Internal Filter fitting hardware for the externally mounted oil canister

Thanks for having me & I look forward to contributing to the community!

What is this and what does pulling it out do?

Welcome to the Stovebolt madness. There is no cure! shake

This is not the proper forum to ask questions or make parts requests. Only about 1/2 of 1% of our membership visit here. Please read the thread at the top in General Truck Talk about why posts are edited, deleted or moved for a comprehensive guide on using the site. Thanks

Welcome Interesting truck you have there.

As mentioned, there are specific forums on this site which address the various questions you have. Check them out and post your questions in the ones most directly related to each specific question. Plenty of good help and advice here.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
