We bought (my money) this very nice 68 in October 2019. It’s been in my shop since getting it ready for at least a short trip to the shop where my son works. Open headers will not be legal here, so that will change. Here’s a short video. Plenty left to do to it.

I still love the sound of a V8 engine!!!!. Bonus in your video that I'm jealous of - green grass, leaves on the trees, blossoms. That is still 5-8 weeks away here in Michigan.

FREEDOM! now you have room for your next project! Hope your son realizes... no truck payments, for life, and he will always be in style and owns a classic! good show.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Nice! Sounds like it is getting dialed in. The dogwood blooms like quite nice.

Jay, "Thanks" for the trip down memory lane. Great looking and sounding truck. Back in the day (as in way back) I would have the occasional need to drive the Duster across town with open headers. 1st time, I proactively called the city Police Dept. and explained why I needed to drive with open exhaust to the muffler shop. Got no love. So made the drive and when I'd spot a marked car it was clutch in and coast. Used that technique many times, never a problem. I do recommend ear plugs if driving more than a couple miles, maybe even if driving 200 feet.

Yup, sure brings back good memories. My first four wheeled vehicle in high school was a '67 half ton custom deluxe, original engine was a 327 but when I got ahold of it the engine had already been changed to a 396, the powerglide had it's hands full trying to stay together with a sixteen year old driver but it was a great learning guide. I have since owned and driven GM trucks from each decade from the "50's through to my current 2011, I think 12 in all.
