My Daughter in-law with our new (3 month old) Grand Daughter are living in Germany (Ramstein air base). My son John is in the states for training. He was scheduled to fly back to Germany in a week or so. Daughter in-law is really stressed over this. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
.
Hopefully they all stay healthy.

John

Just got his orders, he's flying back tonight. thumbs_up At least they'll all be together. I would guess that a US air base is probably much safer than with living the general population in this situation.

Isn't Ramstein the home of a world renowned hospital?

Not sure about that. It does have a very important role in US military medical transport, and from what I've read it seems to be a quite impressive base. We were planning a trip to visit them this year but that was before the Coronavirus pandemic.

Ramstein is the main hospital form troops being Med i Vacked out of the Mid East. Great folks there, they take very god care of our Troops, I went through there in 07' after I separated my shoulder in Iraq.

He made it. Landed in Frankfurt 2:45 CST and sent us a pic of him holding our Grand Daughter at 6:15. thumbs_up
Haven't yet heard all of the details. He was sleeping when I texted him.

John - thank your son for his service!

Craig - thank you for your service!

My son is currently serving in Afghanistan and I worry every day until he returns.

Charlie, As my uncle used to tell me before I would leave for another deployment, just tell him "keep your powder dry" . It's okay to worry, it's good that he knows that as well.
