Is the cylinder head for a 1954 (truck) 235 (high water pump engine) , the same as the 1955 235 PG head (low water pump engine) ??

Those cylinder heads should interchange.

They both use 18 head bolts - same sizes in same locations.

1953-62 235 heads will all interchange.
The 1953 head is not drilled for the four bolt valve cover, and the 1956 and later have a larger hole for the temp sender, also slightly higher compression.
