What do each of you coming to homecoming want to accomplish on your truck while you are there. What might you need some help with?
There will be an assembly of the most knowledgeable people that you will ever likely see in one place for 3 days.
I will be driving my daily driver '50 1/2 ton. I will be looking for opinions on what to do with my tired older restoration paint job.
This means that I will be available to help others with their trucks. I am kind of proud of my front clip alignment abilities, and and am willing to help anyone who could use it.
A couple of Homecomings ago, Leo (53panel) came all the way from Canada to Maryland and we had discussed lining up his front clip, but other things got in the way and we never got it done. I felt horrible about it.
So anyway, anybody needs any help with tweaking their front clip, I'll be there.
BTW, I won't be handing out fish, but rather, I will be teaching you how to fish, so to speak.
Carl

If I make it I am hoping to have NO issues and make it there and back. Or get advice on a classic Plymouth within walking distance. yahoo

Hey look! It's a ...
Carl -- Thanks for getting this started. *if* I can make it, put me down for Jerry's help with checking my valve adjustment.

I can’t make it, but I promise I will drink a beer and work on my truck that weekend. I wish I could provide another set of hAnds to someone in need. Maybe I will get a couple guys here to work on trucks.

Carl. Great thread. I would like to see if anyone knows how to rebuild hinge pins and recable the seat mechanism around the small pulleys

My experience with driving to Homecoming every year (almost) is I don't need anything done on my truck when I leave my house, but something always comes up along the trip that requires some attention before I head back home. That's just me and I've come to expect it. I'm fine with it because I know when I arrive at Homecoming a great group of people will happily help me out of a jam.

I'll probably take the '57. Doughboy should be able to make it just fine, but it's a long trip for him.....same with Magic Bus.

So, I'll let you know after I get there! smile

I really like the way this thread is going. John, after that valve adjustment, maybe Jerry (HRL) could do a timing demo (initial, centrifugal, and vacuum advance)?

Indeed.

I’d like to learn how to make doors close better. My drivers door has always had challenges.

I need to examine some other AD trucks to compare their seat cable slide mechanism to mine. I have never been able to get my seat to slide back to the farthest position for more leg room .

My wife keeps telling me to get my turn signals working !! I have worked on them and I do know how to fix them (after my last attempt shed some light on the issues) The main trouble is that an Electrician installed the new wiring harness ( and I never finished the small details) Still doing the manual arm signals with lots of folks waving back at me !!
