Flasher pilot light fails #1345168 Wed Feb 05 2020 11:08 PM

Using an Ledlights 6V neg gnd LED electronic flasher unit in my Grote 966-4 turn signal. This is in a 49 3100 with alternator. Turn signals work fine but pilot light goes out shortly after install. "P" terminal on flasher is dead. Ledlights advise the flasher voltage range is 5-7V whereas my alternator delivers 7.5V output. Anyone using a LED electronic flasher that will work with an alternator? Thanks

Would an led bulb in the switch (for pilot) solve this?

I have led in rear but standard in front so Im still using standard flasher

I think the problem lies with the flasher operating voltage of 5-7 volts and my alternator puts out 7.5 volts. An LED pilot might work but at $15 a pop for the flasher, I'll have to decide if I can just live with no pilot or spring for another flasher and try the LED pilot. Thanks for the input.
