So I was trying to search for "open gear & chain" lube but get a ton of hits, for each word individually.
Many search functions let you search for a phrase by enclosing it in quotes, but apparently that doesn't work in the search function here.

I found some at Amazon after someone had mentioned using it and I thought, I should try that for ....., but I can't remember for the life of me what I was going to use it on. frown

Any suggestions?

I just did a search using the search at the top of the page. I used this: "open gear & chain" and got only one hit, this thread.

I have also experienced problems doing searches using the quote function. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I have no examples to show at this time. I have found posts in the past using the + function that I couldn’t find using the quotes and yet the exact phrase I quoted was in the posts.

However, if your looking for Open Gear And Chain Lube, I use it on my lathe gearing and it comes in a spray can. Heres a link to something simuliar.

I found the stuff, just couldn't remember what I was going to try it on. ohwell But thanks for the suggestion and the link.
I must not have been holding my mouth right doing the search. Maybe I should try a different phrase in the quotes.
I'll try another search for the thread I first saw it in here.
[on edit]Found it with "open gear" HERE
It was leaf springs, which makes sense. Now I need to just write that down somewhere and not forget where I put the note. headscratch
