Yes, it does fold forward. I still have the gas tank behind the seat, and yes, I can put items back there, but I am careful to not put anything near the fuel sender...just in case (paranoia but I’m sure it’s fine). I am also able to store things under the seat as it really opens it up under there. I keep my fire extinguisher, show wipes, cleaners, and booster cables under there now.
Headroom, legroom, steering wheel not in your face. I’m 6’ at 180lbs by the way. My brother in law is 6’4” and he has sat in it and said, “It’s a little cramped.” To which I said, “You should sit in one with a stock seat!”
It is wider than stock. About 1/2” between door and seat edge on both sides.
Original seat riser removal and fab of 1” riders. Not too difficult. Spot weld cutting, and a little welding later. Done.
The fold down arm rest is just a tad off center and pushes you toward the LH door about an inch or so, but I still bloody like it.
Or do as Martin suggests. I may have to try that on my next AD truck. 😃 The wreckers are your friends on this one. No harm in measuring up some seats.
