I used one to remove the undercoating from the bottom of the cab of my truck, saved a lot of money when I had it media blasted. 3 things are really hard for the media blaster to remove - undercoating, sealer and body filler.

I used a vibrating multi-tool for removing undercoating from the cab floor. I used a serrated blade on it and it worked pretty well. That's another option for you, and you may already have one of those. I got mine from HF. link
