I carry 10 $2 bills. So Gave my son 10 when I took him to college at I U for an emergency, if he was out on the town and did not want to ride back with the person that brought him. 3 days later we went back for parents day and he had an emergency, his dorm room ordered pizza and he had to pay his share. yahoo

I am going to obtain some $2 bills and I will watch them on Where's George.

I hope it tracks the serial number, regardless of the denomination ($2 (TJ vs $1 for GW).

Don, I do the same thing....most of the kids at Chic fil A have them....I call it the $2 club but they have to earn it.....and as you say, most waitresses remember you and you get good service!

.....when I went into the military my brother gave me a $2 bill and told me "keep this little brother and you'll never be broke".
After 53 years I passed it on to his youngest son about 6 months ago. Haven't been broke since I was almost 18.

Jerry, the power went out in Winston-Salem back in 2003 at a McDonalds just as we were purchasing some food and all I had in my wallet was a $100 bill. The cashier went crazy. Finally the manager came up and after telling her my amount of change 2 times she reached under the counter, pulled out the calculator and when it showed what I had said she just starred at me for a minute.

yeah, we are a dying breed for sure.

Most of the two dollar bills I get are brand new and in numerical order.

Been there and done about all of the above, and although I have been to the explosion point way too many times in similar instances, I am finding it really entertaining to read about everyone else's experiences.

Thanks to all, you made my day.

My students used to marvel at my ability to do inch/metric conversions without a calculator- - - - - -"Give me a 3/4 inch wrench- - - - -or a 19 MM, whichever is handy!" Then we would get into engine displacement- - - - -"305 Cubic inch- - - -or 5 Liter"- - - - -427, or 7 Liter, etc."

Ordered some italian food to go & the kid at the register said.... " Your total is $38.70 ''. I handed him 2- $20 bills...
I waited until he punched it in the register & then I said... " Here's the change" ... & I handed him another 75 cents ".

He took the 75 cents & had a real mixed up look on his face.

I said...." Just give me a $5 bill back, but keep the nickle just to make it easier on both of us ".

He gave me a $5 bill back so I stuck $2 in his tip jar.

He still had a puzzled look on his face as I walked out.

They are probably still reviewing their security video on that one.

If I'm reading that right, sounds like you only gave him $37.75, including the tip, for a $38.70 bill!
Or am I missing something?
