"They want your email address and your life history and location."

That allows them to sell your contact information to
- their associated loan companies
- insurance companies
- any other companies that will pay the dealer for your information

Tim, I clicked on your vehicles and saw the hydromatic story. Do you know what a Hydro Matic mountaineer is?

Ron,

The Chevrolet/GM/GMC automatic truck transmissions of "my era" (1954-1955st) were Hydra-Matics.

I know a little about the H-Ms, but, I know nothing about any transmission that started with Hydro.

Ford had a TurboHydramatic (different from the GM transmission, is my guess)?

Are you referring to a Mercury Mountaineer?

Maybe another member can help you?

No, Tim, it was a Hydamatic mountaineer. And it is a shiftless hillbilly, grin. In my research most that are shown are fully loaded and do run in the $60,000.00 tom $70,000.00 range a bare-bones can be less than $27,000.00. I went to the dealer earlier and was surprised that the GMC Terrain has no shifter. BTW I had 3 of them and I liked to have the shifter. I do like the idea that it did not have the manu-shift or I could not find it. The mystery to me is, how do people afford 70 or 80 thousand for a truck. And why?????

No, the car salesmen aren't the sneaky, unethical rat b@$tards that the guys in the finance office are -- they are truly the unethical, immoral, degenerate, soul-less lying rodent fecal matter who will burn you know where for a very long time.

Right on. One of my biggest complaints is the doc fee.
