Looking for a solid cab to fit my half ton Chevy truck. Large window would be awesome but a good small window is good too. Must have good non-rusty pillars!

Will come in person to pick it up. We enjoy road trips. Please PM me and I will provide you with a phone number and/or email address. Thanks!

Bea

Cabs are all the same, 1/2 to 2-1/2 ton except for the size of the transmission floor cover hole, so don't overlook a big truck cab...If you do get a big truck cab just remember to get the floor cover with it...

That's great information about truck cabs and helps explain why my 1956 shortbed ( approx.114" WB) stepside has a VIN plate that starts with 3B which I believe is for a longbed 3200 series truck. It was advertised as a 3100 in description but I am learning the cab may be from a 3200 big window truck.
good luck

Please correct me if I'm wrong. But, I believe that '58 and 59 cabs will work as well.

Yes, the Cabs are all the same from 55.2 thru 1959 almost...

The battery support tray and hood hinge captured nuts are welded in different locations for the 58/59 cabs, so some minor modifications are needed to make the correct year parts fit the wrong year cab.

Well I am quite a ways away, but my son just bought a ranch here in NE Oregon and in the barn was a cab from a '56 Chevy 6400, plus right hand door, hood, both front fenders and inner fenders. There may be more buried under all the racoon poop. Cab is in decent shape, but is a small window. We have not located the engine, tranny or running gear, but it could have been made into a hay loader using a Farmhand F-10 loader as was common in these parts.
