I have noticed on several pictures of these side vents that there are 2 springs that assist in the operation of the vent door. The vent door on my 1950 operates fine by hand from an inside lever, but the springs are long gone. Are these available new from any vendor? All answers appreciated. Thanks, Tom

Tom, I don't think anyone makes them....Ace Hardware has a big selection of springs if you can get a photo of an original or just find one that works. Others will chime in...............and be sure to post an ad in the parts wanted forum. someone may have an extra/old cab.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Never knew the vent door was spring assisted. Mine has none.

Looks like you had to cut the replacement patch panel to save the original slot.
Are those louvers for air to pass-through ?

Mine was floppy so I used a zip tie to keep the handle pulled back. No springs. My radio antenna is attached to the vent door on the outside.

My green turd has no springs in it's side vent. Doesn't need them either.

Now I found something else to check I never thought about. I don't think mine has any opening inside!

3800GUY,

Do your doors have a single side glass, or a vent-window glass and a door glass?

- If you have to stomp on your foot-pedal starter, either you, or your starter, or your engine, has a problem.
- The 216 and early 235 engine are not "splash oilers" - this is a splash oiler.
