I really enjoy looking at and reading about other Stovebolters trucks in the gallery but never see any new postings. Latest ones seem to be from around 2006. Are submissions no longer being accepted?? If the section is still accepting submissions, what’s the procedure? Thanks.

Some efforts were made last year to make some progress in adding Gallery submissions. Not sure where the process stands now.

I submitted my 49 before the holidays and I noticed the same thing. I did receive an email from John & Peggy Milliman telling me that they were working on some year-end stuff and would get back on the gallery first of the year.

I had been wondering the same thing some time ago. I had been communicating back in the end of 2016 to get my truck posted, but it didn't happen. I gave up on it and had forgotten about it. frown

John and Peggy have their lives full, taking care of things in life and the hard knocks.
If someone would like to take over the Gallery, I'm sure John, could use some help to edit posts and pictures.

Thank you for the update Don. No worries, while the gallery is nice, I very much enjoy and appreciate all the information in the forums!

Awhile ago the Gallery was moved back a few marks on the priority list. If and when it does get up and running, I'd be happy to assist as I've done in the past. Just waiting for the call from Stovebolt Headquarters.

Thanks for all the answers and comments. Hopefully the gallery will once again be made a priority so we can all enjoy pics and stories of the many new ‘Bolts that have been acquired in the recent years and put back on the road where they belong. I know I’m one of many who would love to submit the story of my truck and see it posted in the gallery. I’d also be willing to donate my time to help with the posting process if it would help to speed things along.

Last Fall, I began an effort to overhaul the design and layout of the entire site. We had a lot of pages in the Gallery and Tech Tips who's design went back to the beginning (so they looked ... bad). Also, the new site needed to be able to display on smaller screens (like smart phones and tablets) without looking ... bad. All of that required a completely new site, not just a refresh of the current one. I was hoping to roll it out on New Year's, but the holidays brought their own challenges (some not related to the calendar) and ... well ... program schedule and performance benchmarks have taken an unprogrammed excursion to the right, as we say in the defense acquisition biz ...

I did not want to add any new Tech Tips or Gallery pages until we had a new frame work to load them into. But once I have that, it should go pretty quickly to get the current Gallery pages reloaded and then turn to the ones stacking up in the inbox.

Sorry for the delay. Thanks for cracking the whip ... I feel like the Death Star commander being strangled by Darth Vader for being late with construction ...

"We'll double our efforts ..."

brrrrr

But ... as a taste of things to come, here's our logo for the year ahead ...

Stovebolt is a first class forum, the key item in my mind that sets it apart from all others is the Gallery. Among all the good things that this site brings to the best internet experience on truck intelligence, the gallery is the thick icing on the top of the cake-IMHO.

I love the new logo--25 years is something to celebrate! Perhaps a talented member here can help commemorate this milestone with something that other members could possibly enjoy (example: license plate topper) and raise some necessary operating funds. I really am glad that my truck and this site are part of my life. Thank you to John, Peggy, and all who make Stovebolt.com possible!

I'm working on putting a window style sticker together (with John's blessing) I need to send him a couple of samples still.
The one he just posted should be a good starting point for that. I just need to see how it prints out.

Hey John, thanks for the detailed explanation. Sounds like you’ve been really busy and still have a lot on your plate. I’m not a tech person, but understand the challenges and fully appreciate how difficult, time consuming, and costly it must be to change & modernize the website. It’s been this long, so waiting a while longer to see fresh entries in the gallery section is no big deal. Thanks.

Sorry I am just now getting around to responding to this. I remember reading it late one night. Then I couldn't find it. Last night I figured out how to find it, thanks to a PM from Samantha, dang

The Gallery has been in a hiatus for a bit (September 2016 -- when I went into the hospital). We had a pretty good routine going for it. Good thing we had set up the DITY Gallery to at least carry on the stories ... until now. Or, I guess I should say *soon* not me I am working on the old HTML and fixing the infrastructure in the Gallery section. Once I get the template finished, I'll be ready to get back into production. Our one test case has had me re-learning super slowly. I'm very glad the Geek was able to help me out with that. Plus, I got a "dummies" book from the library. laalaa

Rest assured, it's on my mind and will soon venture out. ITMT, if anyone does want to volunteer, please PM me and I'll figure out a system. John Lucas (and the former Gallery helpers) and Andy made the work a lot more fun.

Any body waiting to get in ... well, I still have about 25 self over from 9/16 that I can finish up. But, we'll let you know when we're ready.

For now ... enjoy the extra of the year tomorrow. And thanks for bearing with us.

Peg

Just to let you know, one change for the Gallery page(s) is that the long menu column on the left is coming out. wave

I'm stuck again. The network connection between my computer and all the files, which are on John's, is not working properly. It's even slugging email traffic. It's something about Windows and the network, maybe. Hope to figure it out.

Nuts, I was making good progress. Not being able to guess and check has left me ... ohwell

Sigh
