Hello. I know this may sound like a dumb question but on my 1947 the tank is underneath the bed on the driver's side and the filler neck goes through the side of the bed just behind the cab. I have seen several pictures of what say they are 47's but the filler neck seem to be in different places. How did it come from the factory? Thanks
The 1947.5 half-ton truck and the 1948 truck have the fuel tank under the bed and the filler neck goes out of the bed just behind the cab on the passenger (right) side. The tank was moved inside the cab in 1949.
This is interesting. We have always put the filler on the passenger side when we make bedsides for that truck. We have an original bedside with the filler on the passenger side and we used it for the pattern. It looks like more research is needed.
