Sometime over the past 58 years some surgical cuts were performed in the area of the stock radio mounting holes. The metal around the area where the volume and tuning knobs would normal be, was removed. Does anyone know if any kind of custom bezel is manufactured to cover up and dress up this area. Not really interested in any cutting and welding to this area as it has been painted to match the interior. Prefer a thin plate with the cut outs or a custom bezel or even a bezel from another radio that would fit, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks Hugh
I had to manufacture this radio dash mount after previous owners had done several butcher jobs on the dash. I could not find a chevy radio for a reasonable price so I grafted the radio out of a 72 Ford. A better radio anyway.
Brad I won one of these bidding on Ebay a while back. Ending up returning it as it did not fit, way too much room between the factory knobs, would not fit a factory radio. Was really looking forward to using it.
You might try making a card board pattern of what you have in mind and take it to a shop that will laser cut stainless sheet. It's available in both polished and satin finish of many different gauges (thickness). Just a thought. It mostly depends on if you find the right shop that will assist you in converting the dimensions of your pattern into a dxf file. Might not be as pricey as one would think. At least you'd be getting something that you know will work.
