The Phillips head was not invented by Mr. Phillips.
The credited inventor of the Phillips screw was John P. Thompson who, in 1932, patented (#1,908,080) a recessed cruciform screw and in 1933, a screwdriver for it.
But Henry F. Phillips who started the Phillips Screw Co in 1934, is who it's named after.
But the grease fitting (aka Zerk fitting) was invented by Otto Zerk.
