Driving my 53 1/2 ton pickup and after 5 minutes around the neighborhood I couldn't shift on of first gear. Does the clutch need adjusting? It is a new clutch.

Sounds like the clutch is not fully releasing, make sure there is free play when the clutch is fully adjusted, otherwise the throw out bearing will have a short life.
