hello , i have a 1939 chevrolet 1.5 ton with the origonal straight axle found out the kingpin hole in the axle is loose on the right side only . the spindle and axle already have oversize kingpins , can this eyelet be shrunk down with heat or swedging ? or other ideas . i have been checking with some truck shops around the washington area , everyone i talked to do not work on that old stuff anymore !!! thank you 1pete1

Any machine shop worthy of the name can bore the axle eye oversize, press in a sleeve, and bore the sleeve to fit a standard size kingpin. An alternate fix would be to simply find an axle in better condition and do a swap.

I had this done with my 1 Ton axle and I am very satisfied.
