Just joined last night, currently got 2 in the stable. A 1955 second series half ton and a friend of mine and I went to Kentucky 3 weeks ago and picked up what I believe to be a 1952 short bed. The cowl tag reads C 12-51. Original color appears to be O.D. green. We were told it was an ex-military truck. pulled the box off the other night and found a different looking spare tire mount on the under side of the frame. Doesn't look like any of the pictures in the assembly manual. It runs front to back, has a slide channel in center. Not sure how the spare was held in place. First of probably many questions yet to come. Glad I found this site.

Welcome to the 'Bolt! Glad to have you aboard.

Pictures...

We love old truck pictures. smile

The characters on the cowl tag C 12-51 do not correlate with any original 1952 Chevy serial numbers.

When you have permission to post pictures, please post a pic of the data plates.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
