Very nice additions to your collection. The 65 would make an awesome sleeper if you were into that.

The problem with having a old american car for a sleeper ( my kind of car as sleeper from the old days ),that a lot of these small cars are down right fast and can beat ya pants off.. still would be neat to see a big block ,dual quads equaling out to some where about 500 hp .. what say you Martin ? I think I know already ,..

Promised the Trust I would keep both original for 5 years. After that they will most likely be passed on to the next owners.

The Dodge fired this morning. Just a test, wasn’t trying to start it. Now I have to clean out the fuel system and refresh the brakes.

Finally found the master cylinder on the Dodge yesterday. Been looking for 3 days. The engineer who designed the system and location back in 1939 should have been drawn and quartered. It’s in the engine compartment directly under the steering column. There is a plug in the cap you remove to add fluid. Approximately 1 1/2 inch of clearance between the plug and the column and no room to get your hand in to turn a wrench. I can see a wobble socket and a couple of extensions in my future. To fill it I’ll have to use a length of plastic hose and a small funnel. Gonna be messy for sure. 25* and 30mph winds today so no work for a few days.

Worked a bit on the ‘65 Biscayne today. Fixed the jammed up column shifter. PB Blaster in the area of the column where the shifter arm attaches. Shifts smooth as butter now. Added brake fluid to the empty M/C hoping the brakes would pump up. No such luck. Rain coming in tomorrow so no outside work for a day or two.
The to do list includes a new battery, rebuild the brake fluid systems. Pull the valve cover and make sure the valves are free. Poor a little gas in the carb and see what happens.

Signed and notarized Title came in the mail today. Tag office was very cooperative even though the owner signed in the wrong place. Since the signature matched the name on the title and had been notarized they accepted it. It is now in my name.

Title on the ‘39 Dodge is making its rounds between the members of the Trust for signatures. I may have it after Thanksgiving week.

36* and drizzle outside. Ms Kathy and I went out to do some diagnostics on the brakes. She pumped the pedal and held it down (we’ve done this hundreds of time during our 50 years together) and I opened the bleeder on the M/C. To my surprise fluid came out. Again, more fluid came out along with a shot of air. Several pumps and a refill later and we have brakes. Can’t get to the lift right now (‘39 Dodge on it) to bleed the wheel cylinders but for now no parts needed. May get it running this weekend. The brother (twin) of the lady who drove it in high school will be up from Texas next Friday so he may get to drive it for the first time since 1990.

It’s alive! New battery, fresh real gas and a bit of carburetor prime and the ‘65 Biscayne fired right up. It had not been run in 12-14 years. Downside..... radiator is leaking like crazy from several places. New one on the way.
