I really appreciate your help here. I'm just not quite sure what youre referring to as the A-pillar. In my mind, there is a pillar that the hinges bolt to,, which I've been calling the hinge pillar. Farther forward there is the bottom of the inner to outer cowl divider, which is shaped nearly the same as the hinge pillar. Is this what you're calling the A-pillar? If so, then I'm really confused because it has a hole in the bottom which lines up with the hole in the rocker. If I'm being dense, then I apologize. Thanks

Standard terminology is that the most forward pillar is the A pillar, and lettered rearward from there.
So yes, the hinge pillar is the A-pillar and the B-pillar is the lock pillar. On a 4 door car, the B-pillar would be the front door lock pillar and the rear door hinge pillar (unless you're talking about a car that had suicide doors in the rear - 1948 Plymouth comes to mind - my sister fell out of ours when she tried to latch the door on the highway and the wind caught it and jerked her out - sorry for the excursion into left field wink ) The rear door lock pillar on a sedan would be the C-pillar.
Sorry for the confusion.

Thank you so much. I'm sorry that I wasn't aware of the proper lingo in regard to the pillar designations. That clears it right up. Your information will help me tremendously. I can move forward a few steps now.
THANK YOU
