I have linked a video of my brother and I picking Winter Rye with our Case A6 combine.
August first and second of 2020 will be the Mid-Iowa Antique Power Show in Marshall County, Iowa.
J.I. Case will be the featured brand of equipment. Four acres of rye, six acres of oats, and two acres of corn are being grown to demonstrate harvesting with threshers, antique combines, and corn pickers.
All brands of vintage trucks are welcome and encouraged to attend. The link to the show is bellow as well.
Thank you!

When I was a kid there were still ones that mowed-windrowed-shocked wheat, oats, rye, and then threw the shocks onto a mule drawn wagon to carry them to a stationary threshing machine. Mules were best because they would pull the wagon at the pace you were pitching the shocks on with a fork. My Dad always had a few acres of flax since the price it brought was steady and not like the market fluxuations of other grains. Flax is miserable to handle every step of the way.

One of the biggest problems facing the world today is apathy. But who cares?

Thanks everyone. Speaking of flax... I have about five pounds I'm planning on planting next spring. I planted 700 seeds in my garden this spring. I cut them with a scythe, shocked them by hand, hung them in the basement to dry, and rolled the seed bolls on the floor to extract the seeds. It was a good time!
