Hello I have a 1955 Chevy 3600 1st series 3/4 ton 4-speed floor shift truck. Do any of you know if the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton steering gearbox and column are the same for these years? I'm looking for an original gearbox with steering column and want to know if they're compatible. Thank you for your expertise!

I have a GM printed overhaul manual for the steering box.
I copied it on my scanner page by page .
I made it into a very readable pdf.file .
