I just saw a commercial on TV for the new Kia Teluride. It's driving "off road" though shallow puddles that my low slung sedan could handle trying to show it's "off road" chops and the main selling point of the commercial is that it has six USB charging ports. Really?? An off road vehicle who's strong point is it's charging ports?? Is "roughing it" now considered being able to charge your device away from home? Why do I feel my intelligence was insulted? The commercial.

Your intelligence was insulted. Sadly the intelligence of a great number of our fellow citizens wasn't insulted and I suppose we can take that with as many or as few grains of salt as we choose, but (also sadly) it is the truth.

To some millennials, that may be off road driving.
Next it will be an electric 4x4 with a backup gas generator, to charge the batteries.

What gets to me is ALL brands of off road 4wd rides are shown slinging dirt and busting through mud yet NEVER get a speck of mud/dirt on the shiny bodies. I couldn't drive through an operating room without it being followed by two hours of scrubbing and vacuuming.

My post wasn't intended in starting a political discussion. I deleted one "charged" sentence because it could prompt someone to retort and doom the thread. Let's not turn every discussion political guys. Off-roaders and those who wrongly think they're off-roaders favor no one particular political party or political philosophy.

Add to that all the guys and gals wearing camo. I can still see them and I guess that is what it is all about.

I've seen that, but didn't notice the small print that's on all the car commercials. "Professional driver on closed course". Most of them are shots of the car driving down the highway, like no one but a professional driver can do that. ohwell
Can't arrive at your destination with your six cell phones dead! That would be disastrous!
I guess This guy won't be buying a Kia Teluride. Not enough charging ports. eeeek

a lot of people now don't know how to get anywhere with out their phone telling them where to turn! If the phones all die, they will never get to their destination!

You want to see the Zombie apocalypse, shut down all the cell phones. The younger people won't know what to do.
