Ring in the new with some quality time with your old truck! A great time to tackle a winter project. If you do not have access to your truck, start your parts list for spring!
The days are officially getting longer now, you know!
I just bought the wood for my fleetside and does not come with the offset washer and bolt holes. Does anyone know where I can get a template so I can drill them myself? If I had the old wood I could just use that as a template but unfortunately it did not have the wood. I have tried Jim Carter's Old Chevy Trucks, Tuckers, Car & truck shop of Orange and none have a template.
I went ahead and purchased the bed assembly instruction manual but what I need is the one thing not included in the instructions. Also tried Mar-K, they offer a bit of information but nothing that can be used to determine exactly where to counter sing wood for the offset washers. Still searching.
Do you have the offset washers? If so, use them as templates. I would offset them either forward or backward from the bolt holes. Who's gonna know they aren't right. Maybe a photo of a complete bed would help figure out the direction of the offset the factory used. Here's one from Mar-k's customer photo gallery: 59 Fleetside They look like the washers are all offset forward.
