I just picked up a 1950 Burby and it does not have the limiting straps on the rear barn doors. Does anybody know where they can be found (aftermarket or used)?

Post a Parts Wanted ad in the Swap Meet (and look on eBay).

By straps, you are probably referring to the flat bars/stays - "check", used from 1950-1955st?
I have not seen a reproduction for sale.

Question for members:
The parts manual does not show a check listed for 47-49 Suburbans - was the 47-55st Panel door check also used on those early A-D Suburbans?

- The 216 and early 235 engine are not "splash oilers" - this is a splash oiler.

There were 2 different styles used with the 2 position props. Which ones do you need ?

I used leather straps on my doors, ala Model A door checks; that's why I have a leftover set of factory originals. I figured these clunky metal things were just another thing to pinch my fingers and bash my head into blush

All barn door equipped Suburbans received the single lock adjusting arms.

The Master Parts Catalog does not list hinges for the 1947-49 Suburbans, so I guessed those years might have had the same hinges as used on 47-55st Panels?

The different hinge ("single lock") is listed for 1950-1955st Suburbans.

I don't know how the rear doors could be attached to the body without hinges but.....as proven many times now....what was printed in the parts books & what was actually done on the assembly line are two different things.

Great information provided by MT.

The panel truck door upper hinges stops seem readily available. The Suburban only style are harder to find.

Not sure you're missing out on much. The stops on my Suburban are so worn that they scratch paint in the closed position. I tired pinging the rivets but they didn't tighten up any.

I've got a little slop in mine, but I was able to twist the plate, the change the angle, and now it doesn't rub when opening and closing. But I know exactly what you mean.
