I don't know how the rear doors could be attached to the body without hinges but.....as proven many times now....what was printed in the parts books & what was actually done on the assembly line are two different things.

Great information provided by MT.

The panel truck door upper hinges stops seem readily available. The Suburban only style are harder to find.

Not sure you're missing out on much. The stops on my Suburban are so worn that they scratch paint in the closed position. I tired pinging the rivets but they didn't tighten up any.

I've got a little slop in mine, but I was able to twist the plate, the change the angle, and now it doesn't rub when opening and closing. But I know exactly what you mean.
