Does anyone know if a 46 1/2 ton tranny will bolt up to a 39 passenger bellhousing?

I'm converting my 46 Suburban to a T5 and the Suburban has a nice 3 speed, torque tube, 3:55 rear end set up.
The width of the rear axles is the same. I'd probably use the 39 torque tube if the length was different.

Maybe I just move the 46 bellhousing to the 39 (39 already has a 235 with a 39 tranny). The 39 tranny was rebuilt but the gear noise is not fun.

I'm thinking if I have a torque tube set up with 3:55 gears that it would be nice to use it in my 39.

Maybe a hair brain idea?
