Am thinking of putting one of these transmissions in my truck replacing 3 speed Saginaw any problems I need to overcome I know I’ll have to get rid of three on tree and go to floor shift

I have no particular advice regarding the Tremec but I’ve heard good things. Please tell us more.
What year truck?
What engine?
What kind of clutch release mechanism do you plan to use?

Do you know if the Tremec 600 has the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the Saginaw?
Do you have bucket seats? The pics which I have seen show the shifter positioned quite far to the rear. Maybe some of them aren't like that.

I have an S-10 5 speed in my 54 which fits great but the mustang one is too far back. My limited understanding is the Tremec is the same as the S-10 and is used in drag racing.

Yes, the Tremec transmissions have several options for the shifter location. I do believe the kits available to move the shifter to the “mid-shift position” are pretty pricey. Just depends what you want and the application.
