I’m trying to identify what throttle linkage will work with my 235 transplant. The existing linkage kinda works but isn’t correct as you can see in the photos. The return spring is not in line with the bell crank, stretched at angle away from the engine and attached to a bracket at the bell housing. My engine has the second hole for the bell crank behind the exhaust. Any ideas and pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you JiMerit for your info. The existing setup is cobbed together. The vertical rod to the carb actually rotates over center of the bellcrank (past the pivot point) and I’m afraid of it getting stuck while driving. It appears from the illustration you posted, that the existing linkage may have come from a car. That is likely as the engine came from a 59’ car. I think the only way to solve the issue is to purchase 52’ 216 linkage and return everything basically back to stock.
From what I have gathered from this forum and links from it, to fix it I need to use the existing linkage from a 52’ 216, move the pivot point forward a few inches to the second mounting point. The shorten/lengthen the pedal rod to fit.
Am I on the right track?
