Just finished putting a 2000 Chevy Trailblazer 6 lug rear end under a 1950 3100. Fits great IF one uses the Trailblazers wheels. The bolt pattern is metric so 6 on 5.5 early Chevy wheels don't fit. Will have to make a "Uni-lug" wheel for a spare that fits front/rear. Should take about a half hour on the vertical mill.

How about modifying the front hub bolt pattern to accept the same wheels all the way around? Offset the hub lug holes 30 degrees and bore both hubs and drums for the new bolt pattern. That's also a pretty simple vertical mill or radial drill press operation in combination with a dividing head. Then use a donut spare for front and rear. If the wheels are hub-centric it might be necessary to make a spacer or machine the hub snout down, but that's child's play for an experienced machinist, also.

You're right Jerry, It's easy to make a new pattern when the lug count is the same. When going 6 to five or visa-versa that the set of new to old holes look like fresh snow with the footprints of a staggering drunk. The old Chevy is (in metric) 6x139.7 while Trailblazer is 6x127---almost a 1/4" smaller. Pilot hole is no biggy.
