Hi folks. The door weatherstripping...that is to say the seal that is glued to the doors...who has bought what lately and what is the consensus on what is best? I need to replace mine during a repaint. I have some made by GM, but it is apx 40 years old. Looks ok but I'm hesitant to use it because of the age. Ideas? Suggestions?
Yes Mark, for the 1952 1/2 ton. I'm repainting it and want to go with new weatherstripping...at least the door to body stripping. What I recall from comments over the past 5 years is that some is too firm leading you to need to slam the doors. That's what I'm trying to avoid.

Jon, I think it’s just a shot in the dark with the thick/thin issue. Personally I would rather have it too thick. Install in the heat of the summer and leave the door shut, out in the sun, for a couple of days. Should help the seal conform to the gap quite nicely. JMO
